ঢাকার শেরে বাংলা নগরে অবস্থিত জাতীয় সংসদ ভবনের ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর স্থাপন করা হয় ১৯৬২ সালে। জেনারেল আইয়ুব খান এর ভিত্তি প্রস্তর স্থাপন করেন। ৯ তলা বিশিষ্ট এই ভবন ২১৫ একর জমির উপর অবস্থিত। এর স্থপতি মার্কিন নাগরিক লুই আই কান। রাষ্ট্রপতি আব্দুস সাত্তার ১৯৮২ সালে এটি উদ্বোধন করেন।
